If you need a good condo and a good beach, think about Puerto Plata, there you will find anything you need and for affordable prices. It is a great place for older folks like myself. It is not a loud all nite party town like Sosua is. I strongly recommend you go. DR is a great value compared to Mex and other caribbean. The only time Caberete gets busy with young partys is during the windsurfing championships which occur once a year. There is local shopping and great food at open air cafes on the main street. The people are very friendly and it is safe for tourists.
